TRIPorganiser is a personal travel service, arranging tours and multi-day trips around the UK. Based in Edinburgh they are spoilt for choice for fascinating and beautiful places to take their guests.
Beryl from TRIPorganiser had an existing website that was limited in what it could do. They had lots of images and content but filtering and navigation was a challenge, and there were restrictions in the design. Beryl was looking for beautiful, bespoke graphics and designs, using the colours in their logo along with a palette of rose gold and earth tones.
Working with Beryl and her now husband Sean was an absolute pleasure. Their passion for the areas they visit is undeniable. We transferred across the images and content from their existing website and built templates for Half Day, Full Day and Multi-Day Tours. Their booking system has changed a few times, but we were able to integrate both Rezdy and Checkfront and of course the important TripAdvisor widget.
It started as a new website and moved onto a complete rebranding – with social media headers, letterheads, invoices, icons, logos, business cards all being included.
We created the little graphics which were dotted around, which gave a holiday feel with the postcard and postage stamp, we also designed the Instagram-looking squares to again capture someone being on holiday.
Beryl having originated in Germany also runs the tours in German, so we did a /de version of the website, which a visitor can quickly switch between. The tools that we use for this mean that pages can be edited very easily in situ, if for example, a translate program doesn’t quite translate the copy as a native speaker would want it to. We also checked that the colours were all compatible with the visual checks more common on German websites (for example if black text on a white background had a rating of 100, and black text on a black background was 0 – a successful visual score would need to be 80 or above)
Covid has impacted many businesses, travel & tourism did not get away lightly. Beryl and Sean started doing TRIPchat live video interviews and guest spots to keep content rolling, and visitor interest high through the lockdown period, we helped with the graphics and support on getting this set up.
We wish them all the luck of the Scottish, and will be booking ourselves on one of their tours when we are lucky enough to head North.
